Rutgers true freshman quarterback Gary Nova continued to progress as a collegiate starter against Navy. The former Don Bosco prep star had some troubles with 2 interceptions; one of which was run back for a touchdown, and two other passes that were deflected to his receivers. However overall Nova had a solid day for the Scarlet Knights, finishing 23/31 (74%) for 271 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 INTs. At no point did Nova lose his poise, and showed great pocket presence as he kept his eyes downfield for receivers. Nova hit 8 different receivers against Navy, showing he’s able to go through his progressions well. The sky is the limit for this young man.
